My husband and I spent 6 nights at Ray Caye and had the best time! We’ve travelled the past few years to more touristy spots and had fun but there was also a lot of stress. This time we wanted something low key, quiet, and warm! Ray Caye gave us all of that and more! We stayed in a villa and had our own balcony facing east towards the Caribbean. The sunrises were spectacular! We loved sitting on the balcony and enjoyed the view, no matter the time of day. The stars at night were so bright and we enjoyed using a sky guide to put names to the bright stars we could see. The bathroom in the villa was great as well! The shower water was always hot and the amenities were wonderful. We used the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Even my crazy curly hair liked the shampoo and conditioner. The bed was also great! It was on the firmer side, which I appreciate, and was so comfortable to lay in. I slept really well! One thing to note, I love sleeping in pitch black, and learned part way through the trip you can turn the bright LED light off on the AC. Just push the LED light button and it turns the light off ;). Everything about the room was awesome! Housekeeping was wonderful as well! They clean the rooms daily and top you off on anything you need (water, soap, etc). And if you don’t need housekeeping on a daily basis, just let them know. They’re so friendly and do an excellent job keeping the rooms clean. We tried to stay in the habit of leaving our sandy shoes outside on our porch so housekeeping didn’t have to sweep as often. But even so, every time after they cleaned it was spotless! The dive shop was awesome as well! Upon arrival we got fitted into snorkel masks and flippers and were able to keep them the whole time we were there. They even provide a mesh bag for you to carry everything in. The best part, any questions you have, even the ones that seem silly, they answer without judgement, with grace, and will even offer to show you or take you. For instance, they have little sailing boats and if you’re not familiar with how to do it solo, they’ll take you! They even have a first aid area for minor incidents and treat you with care and compassion. I got stung by presumably jellyfish tentacles that were stuck in seaweed and they took care of me. I felt embarrassed and shocked but I was assured it happens and that’d I’d be okay! So kind and so sweet! Speaking of the dive shop, we did the Silk Caye snorkel tour with Bryan and his crew and had a blast. We swam around one of the reefs and saw so many beautiful fish! My new favorite fish is the parrot fish! Absolutely beautiful! After that part was done we hopped back on the boat to another spot where we swam with turtles, rays, and nurse sharks. The turtles were interested in us humans and the rays and sharks couldn’t have cared less we were there. It was such a wonderful time and I can’t wait to do it again! Now for the restaurant, we got the meal plan because we wanted to just be able to o
